My 17-year-old recently had a root canal and was offered nitrous oxide to help make the procedure more comfortable. We agreed and paid the additional fee. After the appointment, he told me he never received nitrous oxide and was only given a numbing injection in his gums. Had I not asked him about the procedure afterward, we likely would never have known the service wasn’t provided. When I contacted the office, I was told I have to wait until the insurance claim is fully processed before they can issue a refund, despite the fact that payment for the nitrous was collected immediately. I understand mistakes can happen, but patients and parents deserve transparency when a service that was paid for is not actually provided. I encourage other parents to ask questions and verify what treatments were performed during their child’s visit. I plan on contacting my child’s insurance carrier and let them know the situation.

I had my root canal procedures last October 7 and 23 by Dr. Ghaben. Both procedures were successfully done. I was told that the procedures can/might affect my bridges (since these were done like thirty years ago). Dr. Ghaben was able to keep my bridges intact. He really did a great job. He showed me the X-rays of before and after treatments, I was impressed of the results. I never really experienced any pain after my procedures. I really appreciate Dr. Ghaben’s professionalism and his ability to explain the processes and procedures he was going to/did perform. He is and will be an outstanding doctor. Catherine Eagle

I struck gold with Dr. Ghaben! He performed my very difficult, very challenging root canal six months ago. As the x-ray shows, the roots of my molar are very crooked, yet Dr. Ghaben with his expertise and determination, accomplished a perfect root canal. My follow-up appointment today was no less exceptional. Dr. Ghaben is a caring and gifted Endodontist and I wish him well in his future practice (wish he was staying in San Antonio!). Dr. Ghaben was awesome! We were very fortunate to get him as our dentist. My son went through a very difficult procedure for one of his front teeth. He was very patient and thorough. He made my son feel comfortable and got him through his treatment. I highly recommend Dr. Ghaben; he has excellent bed side manner and is very knowledgeable in his field. Thank you Dr. Ghaben!
