I am in my 80s and needed to have a wisdom tooth extracted. I have to say that I am very impressed with Austin Family Dentist practice. The office is very bright and welcoming. Every staff member that I encountered had a smile and greeted me whether I was their patient or not. Dr. Brian Tucker is the best. He thoroughly explained the procedure, so I knew what to expect. Needless to say, I was anxious, but he and his Dental Assistant, John, were calm, reassuring, and listened to me, and were patient with my questions. I also enjoyed their sense of humor. Dr. Tucker had a great technique, and along with John, the tooth was pulled in less time than I expected. I left the office with a post-op sheet that I could understand and follow. I have had almost no swelling and almost no pain, just by following their instructions. Jennifer and Robert, in the front office, are a pleasure to work with. I had all the paperwork done, and cost explained up front. No surprises. I would highly recommend their services. I feet that Dr. Tucker gave me an honest evaluation of what my treatment options were and was looking out for me and not some "bottom line."

I had a dental treatment at Austin Family Dentist with Dr. Priscilla Wong and assistant John Singleton, and they were truly amazing. They were extremely professional, kind, and worked together as a great team. Everything went very smoothly, and they answered all my questions with patience and attention to detail. They were also very sensitive throughout the treatment, constantly checking on my comfort and making sure I was doing okay. They made the whole experience easy, calm, and comfortable — I honestly almost fell asleep because of how professional and gentle they were. Thank you, Dr. Wong and John! This will definitely be the place my family and I trust for our dental care.

I visited AFD for the first time to get a second opinion for two crowns and two cavities. Dr. Wong was very thorough compared to the dentist that made the original diagnosis. While she agreed with some, not all, of the original findings she also found a more serious problem that had been overlooked: another tooth with a large old filling was in need of a crown. I was able to get it done a few days later and the procedure was smooth except for a little difficulty fitting the temporary. That was resolved and everything is fine. No pain after the shot wore off, and Dr Wong called the next day to check on me. She is attentive, professional and caring. Good combination for a dentist. Her assistant Patrick was also very helpful. They worked well together. I’ll be back later for the rest of the work.

UPDATE : Dr. Tucker followed up and I went back in to sand it down. Everything is good now, I never want to experience pain like that ever again. I'm still on the fence about returning for future cleanings, I may consider a different hygienist. Thank you to the staff for making things as right as possible. I went in for a routine cleaning. The enamel on the back of my front bottom tooth got chipped when the hygienist was using the high frequency vibrating tool. I almost jumped off the chair it hurt so bad! I mentioned it to the hygienist during the appointment and she said my tongue will adjust to the change. It was from past build up placque and tartar. She took pictures and showed it to me and I didn't understand how to prevent this in the future. Prevention : "Keep coming to get cleanings." I've been going religiously my entire life getting my two cleanings a year while taking all the advice for better teeth care. My tongue had been very bothered by it. I left a very detailed message and I hope to hear from someone. I've been going here for over 12 years and I've never had an experience like this. They are typically great.

Ive been using AFD for over ten years now and from the front desk, the hygienist, techs and dentists everyone is always very professional, nice and do great work. I just had a filling done with Dr. Sara and I was very nervous about getting dental work done again beyond a cleaning. She was very understanding, sensitive to the issue and explained every step of the way to make sure I was comfortable and the procedure went well. An awesome dentist office and an awesome dentist! Edit: I also wanted to add that I experienced a dental emergency over the weekend and I had emailed and left a voicemail. Dr Tucker reached out the very next day before the office even opened that they would be able to see me. I ended up needing a refferal but they still made me a priority and made sure that the people I was being referred to could see me immediately and took my insurance. Dr. Kieschnick, Wong and Tucker are great dentists and Im always happy whoever I get to see when i come in.
