If I could give no stars i would. The dentist was obviously having a rough day. I asked him to explain what he was doing and he was impatient and rude. I told him I didn’t need him to talk to me that way. That I was a trauma survivor and just needed him to explain the steps. He got frustrated with me and I started crying in his chair. I needed the work done and I thought about getting up and just leaving. He mellowed out and finished the job. I asked his assistant if he was always like that and she said yes. I can’t imagine what it’s like working with a man like that. They sell you their “membership” which includes extra cleanings … I bought the membership but after this interaction…I’m going to finish up this work I need done and ask for a refund because the membership they offer doesn’t pay for respect or common courtesy. Bed side manner doesn’t exist here. Apparently they don’t teach that in dental school.

I hate leaving negative reviews, but unfortunately, I can’t say anything positive about my experience here—and I can’t even speak to the actual dental treatment because I never received any. My regular dentist referred me to Zak Dental for a root canal. When I called to schedule, I specifically explained that I had a referral and confirmed that the root canal would be performed at the appointment I was scheduling. I even asked how long I should plan to be there and was told 2–3 hours for the root canal. I remember this clearly because I had to cancel another medical appointment in order to accommodate that amount of time. When I arrived at the office today, I again asked to confirm that I was there to have the root canal done. I was then told that, no, the appointment was only for X-rays and an evaluation—and that they didn’t have any root canal appointments available until the end of September. At that point, I explained that this would not work for me and asked them to cancel the appointment. Mixed bag here. The admin side of this business seems highly disorganized. At my initial appointment, they took the scans but then didn't have enough time for the dentist to review them with me, so a virtual follow-up was scheduled. I wasn't sent a link for that appointment; I called and they said they'd send one; and they never did. So I had to schedule another virtual appointment. The dentist who did that appointment was fairly aloof and corrected me when I called him "John" rather than "Dr. John" (while at the same time mispronouncing his own assistant's name). The next appointment was supposed to be some work done, plus a cleaning. After the work part, they said there wasn't enough time for the cleaning, so it was added on to be done at the follow-up appointment. At that appointment they said there hadn't been enough time allotted in the schedule for the cleaning. So I had to come back a third time to get the cleaning done. The staff always seems worn down, which I guess makes sense if every appointment requires multiple reschedules. Love Dr Zak Dental Santa Barbara! Been going there for a couple of years for cleaning n recently for a crown placement. Everyone there is super friendly, helpful n professional. In particular, Edith, she’s amazing! I had to change my appointment around due to unforeseen circumstances; she worked with me, always patient and understanding. 5 super stars!!! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

I have not had teeth all my life. I’ve had teeth with spaces and it even affected my dating and affected people mocking me and teasing me and there was nothing I could do because I had no money to fix them but one day I ran into Zak Dental and they made dentures electronically. It was perfect. I don’t know how they did it but they did an electronically they used high technology and they made me dentures and they were beautiful and it changed my life completely changed my life. I love Zak Dental. I wish everybody in the United States would use Zak Dental. They are beautiful and they’re good people and they know what they’re doing and their customer service is wonderful and they answer questions. They’re kind and much great as they took my insurance and gave me dentures that everybody said looked just like real teeth and they couldn’t believe how good I looked and here’s a picture.
