I initially went to another endodontist for a root canal re-treatment consultation, but I didn’t feel the confidence I was looking for. On the recommendation of a friend who spoke very highly of him, I decided to get a second opinion from Dr. Shell — and I’m so glad I did. Dr. Shell is a true professional. His calm, relaxed demeanor immediately put me at ease. He took the time to explain everything thoroughly and patiently answered all of my layman’s questions until I fully understood the process. I never felt rushed, and he never made me feel burdensome or silly for asking questions. I also greatly appreciated his two-step treatment approach; ensuring the infection was fully resolved before proceeding, maximizing the chances of a successful outcome. It’s becoming harder to find professionals like Dr. Shell who genuinely care about doing their work exceptionally well. I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of an endodontist, both for his outstanding chairside manner and his expert care.

Absolutely great quality work and every step of my procedure was clearly explained. The staff was empathetic about my anxiety of getting my first root canal. I highly recommend West Lake Endodontics.

Westlake Endodontics is the best! My husband, son and I have all received first-rate care there. Dr. Shell very compassionately and competently performed root canals on both my husband and son. Most recently this spring I sought care for what appeared to be a recently-crowned tooth that needed a root canal. I was maxed out on OTC pain relievers and still hurting. The office got me in quickly and Dr. Shell did a thorough exam - which was not definitive as to the offending tooth, but he noticed something in my sinuses. Although I was ready for a root canal out of desperation, he suggested an antibiotic. Voila! The $8 antibiotic prescription relieved my pain in a matter of days and I am following up with his ENT recommendation. THANK YOU Dr. Shell, and the Westlake Endodontics team!!

Dr. Shell is the best experience I've had with a doctor or dentist in some time. He was patient, honest, and seemed to truly care about giving me the best outcome, while keeping me fully informed of all options. I can't recommend Dr. Shell enough!
