Cuddling with my wife, I thought, "My life has returned to good." Just a month ago, I cut the head off my Foley catheter and let it drop out in the shower following HOLEP surgery. I was happy as a child the first time seeing a theme park. A slow adopter, a Luddite really, I dismissed rising PSA levels, large prostate, muscular bladder, and multiple UTI's, once terribly during a colonoscopy prep. until presenting many symptoms, my PCP wanted to send me to ER, but I declined, and was sent to a nephrologist, who sent me directly to ER as a matter of life and death. They drained a liter of urine out of me although I had just voided, and started me on a Foley catheter. Two years of minimal bending, no sit ups, sitting on a split cushion, no sex, was a trial. My prostate was too large for the VA staff to operate, so the VA referred me to UT Health San Antonio, and to Dr. Ahmed Mansour Elkenany, MD. I'm savvy, and I asked Dr. Mansour, "Do you do Early Apical Release?" Dr. Mansour replied, "I teach Early Apical Release." And I exclaimed, "You are the doctor for me!" Nothing against the actual clinical staff, but this place is a black hole for money in my experience. I got sick in September of last year and earlier this month payed the nearly $3000 dollars worth of bills in full... just to have them start billing me again for the same September encounter! I messaged billing to have it removed because I assumed it was an error, but no! They basically just said sorry it took us 4 months to bill you and it "happened" to be after you payed everything, you're just gonna have to figure it out. I'd recommend finding somewhere with transparency or at minimum get everything you agree to with these people in writing.

I gave it 3 stars because, The first lady that I spoke to, she seemed nice and she transferred me over to someone I can talk to more about the schools and the programs they have. while I was on the phone with her, she had an attitude and kept talking over me like if I didn’t know what I was talking about after she said no we don’t have the nicu program at their school I was polite and said thank you.. she sighed in an ugly way and hung up the phone.

Amazing care was provided after going to three different hospitals in central Texas. This one accepted, diagnosed and properly treated with surgery in less than a week! Cant express the gratitude I have for them. The reason is, they have so many specialists in house that they are able to diagnose and do things quickly. Other hospitals just don’t have the capability to keep up!!

The University of Texas' Health Science Center at San Antonio's campus is quite lovely!! :-) I've visited a couple of times now, and it's always been a fantastic experience. The staff are helpful & kind, and the facilities are absolutely beautiful!
