I spent some time reading the reviews here and wanted to share my own experience—because I truly can’t recommend this place enough. Especially as someone who worked in dental for several years. I noticed some people were uncomfortable with students and mentors discussing their cases in front of them. It’s important to remember that this is a teaching facility, and those conversations are part of the learning process. I have a genetic condition that has caused significant dental issues my entire life. Ive had to endure multiple extractions, bone grafts, root canals and more. It’s been a long, exhausting, and often painful journey—but Texas Tech has been incredible every step of the way. The first visit consists of them getting detailed information of your medical history, which I read made some people uncomfortable. This however is such an amazing sign of good care. They take EVERYTHING into consideration which I have unfortunately never had previous providers do which led to further complications. Their diligence is a good thing!! Terrible experience.
 My husband went in for a tooth extraction, and while the student dentist was excellent, Dr. Wagen was extremely unprofessional. He showed no regard for my husband’s comfort or pain. The dental staff even apologized on his behalf because of his aggression and negative attitude. Doctors are supposed to care for their patients and be held to a higher standard—not instill fear. Working in healthcare and advocating for patients makes it heartbreaking to realize that some physicians act like this. We will not return here and will be telling others to steer clear.

I would not recommend this place especially for your school-age children. Due to being seen by dental students appointments are a minimum of 2 hours sometimes longer. They will give you many appointments, more than you would get at an established dental clinic (I.e. cleaning part I and cleaning part II). Remember this is a learning facility. Their last appointment is at 3pm so you will have to pick up your child from school repeatedly and often. When patients are laying there on the examining chair, there will be many dental students walking around you, and "learning" by watching, you're basically the guinea pig. This could make some people, especially teenagers uncomfortable. They will drop you from the program after missing 3 appointments however, if they make a mistake with scheduling or made you wait for more than an hour because the dental student was sick or unavailable and didn't show up to your appointment NOBODY takes responsibility. They just look at each other and always use the "they're students" card. Yes, you can save money, but you will have to put up with more than what you may expect. I personally will not use their services again and would not recommend it unless

This is a great option for anyone looking to get dental work, the students are all so sweet and kind. They are supervised and their work is constantly checked on by their mentors but they are reassuring and focus on making you comfortable. The prices are extremely affordable. I got two fillings for $48! If you call and don’t get an answer, keep trying! They are super busy and there is only a few staff members answering phones so be conscious of that. They will explain to you in detail about parking which is super easy to find and free, and they will go over the details of the whole process. Overall a positive and easy experience. Thank you!

This appointment healed some serious dental trauma. I appreciated working with the student Dani who took such good care of me. Her biggest concern was doing things right, making sure I was comfortable & not in any pain & the. Got help from staff/teachers when she needed extra support. Really loved this entire experience. You can see this first image is the photo of a nerve that was pulled out & immediately took away so much pain I was living with. THANK YOU
