Not everyone can afford a private dentist, and this group lists the alternatives: federally qualified community health centers and county health departments that charge on a sliding scale and take Medicaid and CHIP, dental schools where supervised students treat patients at a fraction of private fees, free clinics run by charities and dental societies, mobile and in-home dentists who serve nursing homes and rural areas, and the insurance agencies and discount plans that pay for care. State and local dental associations run referral lines, Give Kids A Smile days and Mission of Mercy weekends where volunteers treat hundreds of patients for free.

Austin is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Austin follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Implant training that actually gets you placing. my problem was volume, i'd done the theory and placed a handful under supervision at home but nowhere near enough to be comfortable. this format fixes that. an hour of planning each morning and then straight into cases. by the end of it the sequence had stopped being something I had to think about. that's what repetition does and there's no substitute for it.

this was intense in the best way. they call it a marathon and they mean it, you place implant after implant on real patients with instructors right beside you. first day i was nervous but they build you up gradually so it never feels like too much. the volume of cases is what makes it work, you just cant get that kind of practice back home. instructors patient and happy to answer whatever you throw at them. i do placements now that used to make me hand the patient off to someone else

started planning out implant training about a year ago and kept landing back on this program. the marathon format scared me at first, placing implants nonstop for days sounded brutal, but i figured if i was going to learn i might as well learn for real. signed up for the cuba trip. the prep work before going was clear, they sent a list of what to study, what to bring, hotel info and travel guidance. landed and the program kicked off the next morning. by lunch on day one i had already placed three implants. mentors were patient and direct, no babying but no ego either. asked dumb questions all week and got real answers. the marathon name fits, you are tired by friday, but you also feel different about implants when you fly home. went from nervous about a single unit case to taking on multi unit treatment plans within a month back at the office

The course focuses on live implant placement which is exactly what most dentist need. You're not watching a demo you are the one doing the surgery with an instructor guiding you. Covered everything from incision design to final suturing. Practicing near round rock and this training changed how I handle cases on a daily basis

solid program overall. the live patient format is way more useful than any model based course I've taken. instructors actually care about correcting your technique not just watching you fumble through it. worth the trip even coming from Austin. came back and started placing implants the following week in my own office.
