I recently graduated from El Camino College this year, and their Student Health Center really helped me when I felt sick, afraid, and vulnerable. The nurse practitioners and therapists who I met there are very sweet, caring, empathetic, and very supportive to me when I felt unwell and unsure. Especially when i got sick and depressed often last year. From intense stress to constant sore throats I had before, I always felt safe and comfortable by the care, warmth, and reassurance they gave me. Both emotionally and medically. I appreciate the staff members who I visited before at the Health Center who have helped me a lot and treated me so sweet when I needed care. I thank them for just being there for me no matter how I was feeling. The warmth I received from the staff members really stayed in my heart. I recommend any ECC student to visit when they need emotional support and healthcare as a campus resource if they feel sick, feel pain, needing to talk, and especially learning how to stay healthy.

I drove 35 minutes through Los Angeles traffic, had to call off work, and spent money on gas, only to arrive 13 minutes late due to circumstances outside of my control. Unfortunately, I was told that they only allow a 10 minute grace period. What was most surprising was the complete lack of empathy or understanding for situations like mine. This organization serves community college students in Gardena, many of whom likely face similar challenges with limited resources, work commitments, and transportation. Could I have tried to arrive 30 minutes earlier? Possibly. But the irony is that when I have arrived early in the past, I have often been made to wait 40 minutes to over an hour beyond my schedule appointment time. That inconsistency and lack of respect for clients time makes the policy feel both hypocritical and unfair. Do better. You don’t know one’s circumstances. How is your goal, of reducing teen pregnancies, promote overall health, and prevent the spread of STD/STI even achievable like this.

They have free snacks. The nurses are also very caring and helpful. They go above and beyond to help out with healthcare needs and offer cost saving options they have for you to save money. By the way, the location of student health center is beside the planetarium on Manhattan Beach boulevard. The google address seems wrong and not updated.
