I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was extremely frustrating. Before booking, I called and explained that I was having teeth pain and wanted the earliest appointment available. I was told that 2:00 PM was the soonest opening, so I scheduled it. I arrived on time at 2:00 PM and understood there might be a short wait. However, waiting over an hour is unacceptable. Another patient and I both had 2:00 PM appointments. I signed in before she did, yet she was called back first. I didn’t mind at first, but after waiting over an hour, I started asking questions. At one point, another patient told me they had a 3:00 PM appointment, and they were called in before me as well. I went to the receptionist and explained that if I wasn’t going to be seen, I would gladly reschedule because I had somewhere else to be. I was told it would only be another five minutes. Fifteen minutes later, I was still waiting and had not been called. I eventually left. The most frustrating part wasn’t even the wait itself it was the lack of communication and respect for patients’ time. Very unfortunate. I had an appointment at 5 for a normal cleaning, took until 5:40 to see me ( I understand). They took x-rays (I took then at the same office 6 months ago). Dentist looked at my teeth and recommended a retainer. Evily (or something similar) quoted me $500 for a retainer. I politely declined. She immediately told me it’s 6:00 so I have to get my cleaning another time. I stated I had an appointment for 5. She came back and RUDELY stated “I told the dentist you were upset so she will stay.” BEYOND UNPROFESSIONAL and shameful. Everyone else was fine but Evily was so rude. It felt like a scam.

I came in for an infected, impacted wisdom tooth extraction. Prior to the procedure, they tried to push me into extracting my adjacent molar at the same time, and when I asked questions, Evelyn and Brittney were rude and hostile. And the doctor was dismissive and annoyed. I chose not to make a decision right away about the adjacent tooth. Later, I saw notes on the doctor’s screen during a follow-up that stated I “insisted” on being awake for the procedure, which is not true. I was never given a clear option and was extremely anxious, in pain, and uncomfortable being awake during the extraction. After the procedure, Evelyn initially tried to schedule my follow-up a month out, saying it was the only day the oral surgeon would be in. This conflicted with what I was told by scheduling, which was that I was already set for a two-week follow-up. When I questioned her, she raised her voice and said my insurance likely wouldn’t approve an earlier visit. That may be true, but it didn’t explain why I was told conflicting information. A Horrible Dental Office Experience In my lifetime I have visited more than 15 dental offices, and this was by far the worst experience I have ever had. The only thing this office seems to do well is marketing. Their website and online presence make the Dental Group of Arcadia look very professional, which is why I decided to try them. Unfortunately, the actual experience was the opposite. I visited this office on March 12, 2026 because I only wanted a simple teeth cleaning. Before my appointment I asked about pricing, but the office told me the doctor would explain the cost after I arrived. When I got there, they immediately started taking X-rays without clearly explaining what they were doing. By the time several X-rays had already been taken, it felt awkward to stop. Dr. Peggie Chen then came in for a very rough and quick exam and recommended a long list of procedures, including removing all four wisdom teeth, redoing a root canal and crown, and several other treatments. Another thing that surprised me was during the exam. The staff was really sweet and efficient. You can tell they really try and help the guests who come in. Anna was super helpful in helping me navigate payment plans for my visit. They’re always efficient in all aspects of work. Plus the take home dental goodies are a sweet goodie bag
