I first went to Vista Del Mar on July 7 to check myself in, but they didn't have an available bed. They also said my blood pressure was too high, so they sent me to the hospital. When I arrived, my blood pressure was extremely high and at one point reached 231/115. I was there for about 26 hours before the doctor told me there wasn't much more he could do with blood pressure medication. He gave me an anxiety medication instead, which lowered my blood pressure enough that I was medically cleared and sent back to Vista Del Mar. I wanted to leave this review mainly to thank the staff who cared for me during my stay. Because I was on line-of-sight (LOS) observation, I spent a lot of time with the nurses and staff who rotated in to watch over me. I really got to know many of them, and they were incredibly kind, compassionate, and patient. They consistently checked on me, made sure I had food, and treated me with genuine care. I truly appreciate everything they did for me during a difficult time. My only negative experience was with one nurse at the beginning of my stay. This review absolutely pains me. CMH was one of the best hospitals for many years to be fair they still have a large amount of very compassionate, professional staff. Unfortunately the bad ones are the ones that stand out. I took my 78 year old mother with a broken R arm to have a stat MRI @ 5 pm and the technician that did her imaging was the most unprofessional, no compassion and definitely no Couth. We were there to R/O a back fracture and of course there was a fracture. The way she handled her made me so angry and to see my moms face was heart breaking from the pain the way she was handled. Literally 5 minutes later they rolled her out of the MRI room to walk us out. Never in my life I have I seen anything like it. I hope she was having a bad because to continue to employ such an unpleasant, unprofessional technician says a lot about the hospital. I know there's a shortage of medical staff but I'm sure there's better out there. Good luck to everyone going there for MRI.

RNs Alicia, Lydia and Natalie were top notch: attentive, professional and caring. So was EMT Cib(ony). I highly recommend this hospital. Takes Kaiser patients too. Esperanza in admitting was friendly and attentive. Doctor Gonzales was informative and honest in her assessment. Exene (Pharma tech) was extremely efficient and friendly as was Rich and Maria in CT dept. The Emergency Dept was quick to admit me. I couldn’t be more pleased with my experience here! This place rocks! Incredible staff!

LOVE CMH!!! I was admitted for a month straight while I was pregnant with my son. The nurses were all incredible and sympathetic to my situation. The food was pretty good and my room was cleaned every day I was there. I am so happy that I have a place I know I can return to or take my family in the instance something was to ever happen. After my son was born, he had a 3 month stay in their NICU and I had the same thing to say about every single person from the NICU nurses to the doctors to the social workers and the cleaners. Every singe person was welcoming, professional, sanitary, sympathetic, informative and simply AMAZING! I am a true advocate for CMH <3

I've been at Community Memorial Hospital several times; many times in the emergency room and fewer times in the hospital itself. Everyone has always been congenial, concerned and shown great care in keeping me comfortable. The nurses, doctors and technicians work together to address my health issues, find the causes and treat the symptoms, as well as provide the best outcome for me. I'm thankful that my Kaiser insurance allows me to go to CMH, which is local for me, instead of having to drive to Woodland Hills, for care.
